A Time for Reflection

Just a few cards to share this week. Since this was my first week back home since I stopped substitute teaching I actually had time to participate in Dawn McVey's weekly color challenge. I admire Dawn's work so much and her blog, My Favorite Things, is always such a great source of inspiration. It's really worth checking out.

I also based this card on sketch #15 at the Card Patterns Blog.

The sentiment on the card is from Papertrey Ink's Out on a Limb Sentiment set. I love this set for cards. The sayings are so meaningful and reflective.

I guess I am feeling a bit reflective myself as I start yet another new role, although stay-at-home-mom is not exactly a new one for me--I definitely feel as if I have to start fresh. I've already started to check off some of the things on my 'to do' list--cleaning out closets and organizing, those kinds of things, as well as thinking and planning what I would like to achieve for myself over the next few months--spending more time with family and friends , participating in more card challenges and making more time to craft.

It's also my birthday this week--yet another reason to prioritize and reflect. Although I have a lot of plans for my son for the upcoming months, I also need to make a bit more time for myself. I already started by getting out of the house on Monday night to make a yoga class at the gym. That was one of the best birthday presents I could have given myself, not only did my body feel great my mind felt completely rested. I guess, like many women out there, I put a lot of pressure on myself to do everything and be everything--a wife, mom, friend, daughter--and although all those things are wonderful, it's important to do something for yourself now and again.

The sentiment on the second card is also from that same Papertrey Ink set.

I hope you enjoy,

Tina
